9 Things You'll Learn After College

Get some popcorn and be ready for an eye opener!

  •
Hanging out with your (real) friends is a lot harder after college. When you were in school, you may have ran into them down the hall, street, at a party, or class, but after college you're most likely in different timezones or schedules.
  •
You'll suddenly find yourself hanging out with or dating people who aren't the same age as you. But wait, it gets even more weird when your friends start getting married and having kids.
  •
You'll no longer have the structure and schedule that you once had in college. Do yourself a favor and pick up a new hobby or activity to keep you sane during this transition to your new life after college.
  •
You probably won't go out as much as you used to. Between looking for a job or having a full-time job...going out 5-6 nights a week is challenging.
  •
You'll achieve a few "firsts" (first car, home, job, paycheck, etc.) in your life. Let's not forget about doing your own taxes for the first time. You'll probably feel like a REAL adult for the first time as well.
  •
Finding your first job after college can be quite challenging. You'll be competing with others who have qualifications you may not. Don't get discouraged, just keep your head up!
  •
Some of you will have to move back home after college for a few weeks (or months, maybe years) while you're looking for a job. And when it's time for you to move back out, you'll most likely not have the same support system you had when you moved away for college. You're pretty much on your own.
  •
While you're transitioning from school to work, you might find yourself fantasizing about one last vacation. It can get quite stressful at times. If you're thinking about having "ME" time, this might be the best time for it.
  •
Yeah, your life won't be the same after college. You might find yourself working longer hours than you've ever imagined. That 3-4 hour class won't even compare to your new 10 hour day. But hey, no matter what happens, you'll be OK.
